Discover the KGS-2422 modular switch series
The core switch is one of the key components in a corporate network. It reliably distributes data streams, connects office locations or departments, and thus ensures fast and reliable communication within the company. In the best case scenario, it also offers the flexibility to respond to different or changing requirements in the network environment. With the modular KGS-2422 switch series, KTI has developed a solution that combines performance and flexibility in a single device.
Four base devices to choose from
The KGS-2422 series is primarily a Layer 2/3 basic switch unit for Gigabit Ethernet. Available with or without 10G SFP uplinks, power supply via terminal block or internal power supply. All other features can be configured to suit your network environment perfectly. The switch offers three slots for switch modules, each with eight ports. Particularly practical: The modules used are automatically detected and configured. A total of nine module variants are available, enabling copper and fiber optic connections. Among others, a pure copper module with 8x 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports, a fiber optic module with 8x 10/1000Mbps dual speed SFP ports, and a mixed variant of these are available. Additional module versions are also available for Fast Ethernet single-mode, multimode, and BiDi fiber optic connections. You have complete freedom in combining the modules. The series offers a total of up to 24 ports.
Custom configurations through comprehensive switch management
The switches support console, Telnet, web, and SNMP for switch management. Port operation, quality of service, and powerful Layer 2 switching functions such as VLAN, IGMP, RSTP, etc. can be conveniently configured and monitored. In addition, the switches are equipped with Layer 3 switching functions that enable the routing of IPv4/IPv6 unicast and IPv4 multicast frames. With comprehensive security features such as IEEE802.1x and ACL control, they are ideally suited for medium-sized enterprise applications.
Like (almost) all KTI devices, this switch is equipped with a robust metal housing. The three slots are also protected by metal covers. These can be easily removed when a module needs to be inserted. A fan ensures reliable cooling during operation. This series can be mounted on a wall or in a 19‘‘ rack. Another plus point: power consumption is max. 46 watts.
